Job Description
Role purpose
GENERAL
-
Supervise maintenance activities of all Utilities, including screw type air compressors, dryers, centrifugal pumps, diesel gensets, HT/LT panels, VCB, Transformer, Solar, fire detection & suppression system all across the Karachi site.

Manage utility team including service providers and ensure assigned tasks are completed timely.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and have good data Analytical skills and Root-cause analysis.

Excellent stakeholder management skills & demonstrated leadership capabilities.
CAPITAL EXPENDITURE
-
Leading capital projects related to utilities and facility upgradations; this could be as the project manager or technical responsibility across a whole project, thus ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with business requirements and within cost and safety parameters.

Collaborate with project owners to define the project scope, often navigating significant ambiguity until a term of reference is established.

Prepare timely and comprehensive applications for engineering capital approvals and project completion reports.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
-
Coordinate Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule of utility equipment including electrical, mechanical, control devices & instrumentation.
-
Support the procurement of maintenance supplies for maintaining equipment and invoice management for vendors and suppliers.
-
Create and manage PO’s for consumable purchases with vendors and suppliers related to maintenance activities.
-
Develop a comprehensive reporting system to ensure PM data is collected and utilized to drive understanding of useful life of equipment.

Support the planning and safe execution of high-risk maintenance activities.
-
Preparing the monthly report for preventive & predictive maintenance activities.
SYNGENTA ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SAMS)

SAMS Actions implementation
-
To provide suggestions and support for improvement in SAMS implementation actions based on site's historic experience"
-
Provide monthly data for the Engineering Department KPIs
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE)
-
Strong understanding of EHS regulations and practices
-
Trained in construction safety management and able to apply Syngenta CoPs and Process Safety Management guidelines.
-
Ensure working team & service providers follows the agreed safety protocols
-
Ensure MOC, JHA, PTW & HSEMS compliance.
MEMBER OF FOLLOWING TEAMS
-
Member of Workplace Risk Assessment (WRA) and Process Risk Assessment (PRA) team
-
Member of HSES&Q internal audit team to support execution of engineering related projects
-
Participate in Hazard Area classification projects and its upgrade as per Syngenta standards/guidelines
Accountabilities
-
Ensure equipment breakdown is reduced year on year basis
-
Efficiently and effectively provide corrective maintenance in accordance with agreed standards and Maintenance Schedule.
-
Identifying and reporting maintenance issues in relation to utility equipment and accessories which includes making recommendations for improvements on systems and processes.
-
Completing appropriate documentation as required & providing technical and diagnostic advice to staff as required.
Qualifications-
Solid knowledge of Utility equipment to support smooth operation of site utilities machinery and support systems

Having sense of emergency and able to flag on potential risks to the people and assets
-
Must have sufficient knowedge of basic HSE and Quality best practices and its relation with productivity
-
Must be conversant of computer-based documentation.

Have at least 4-5 years of hands-on experience of a process industry as utilities maintenance engineer (pharma/agrochemical/fertilizer company)
-
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/electronic/mechatronics.
-
Relevant project management, engineering and manufacturing experience.
-
Having experience with SAP, CMMS, Smartsheet, BI & Capex tools.
