Assistant Mechanic - Job Description

Main Duties

An Assistant Mechanic supports senior mechanics in maintaining and repairing vehicles, trucks, or warehouse equipment.

Typical responsibilities:

Assist in repairing engines, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems

Help diagnose mechanical problems in trucks, forklifts, or machinery

Perform routine maintenance (oil change, filter replacement, lubrication)

Remove and install parts (engines, gearboxes, tires, etc.)

Use hand tools and power tools safely

Support inspection and testing of vehicles

Maintain clean workshop and tools

Follow safety rules (HSE standards)

Report issues to senior mechanic or supervisor
