We are hiring an Assistant Merchant to join our Merchandising team. This position reports to the Merchandising Senior Manager and takes Away further by helping to grow our product merchandising and assortment capabilities and efficiencies.
You’ll build the merchandising assortment documentation, SKU count trackers, key strategic decks, product launch recaps, and other key cross-functional communication documentation
You’ll help establish new processes within the merchandising team, such as key milestone meetings, regular report-outs on the marketplace and business performance.
You’ll support and guide our competitive benchmarking efforts, including market research, product and pricing research, and comparisons
You’ll conduct ad hoc data analysis to support report building, including pulling data & performing analysis on a weekly, monthly, & quarterly basis, writing new launch performance recaps, analyzing ad hoc sales history, and hindsight-ing
You’ll maintain Away’s product management systems and files, making necessary updates and communicating whenever there is a change to the line (Linelist, Airtable, D365, Pricing, Product Hierarchy)
You're curious and deeply passionate about retail and travel!
You’re highly analytical, and can pull and organize large data sets to extract insights
You have past planning or financial analyst experience
Deep interest/knowledge in competitive set and marketplace
Experience with Looker, Microsoft suite including advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
You’re creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand
You’re agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment

Our total rewards are inclusive of both compensation and benefits. What we offer within a salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. Salary and benefit offerings are reviewed during phone screenings to ensure alignment.
Compensation: $60,000.00-63,000.00 annually (Note: This is a salaried, non-exempt role)
This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Annual Company Performance Incentive Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined at the discretion of the company
Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company

This is an office-based position that works from our Soho, NYC office four days a week. Our working hours are 9am-6pm et, but we embrace a common-sense approach to flexibility in the workplace. It’s about being present, engaged, and balancing work with real-life needs.
