Job Summary:
Capstone Montessori School invites passionate and dedicated educators to apply for the position of Teacher for Infant and Toddler Rooms. This role is designed for individuals who are committed to supporting a high-quality Montessori environment and are eager to contribute to the growth and development of children. The Teacher for Infant and Toddler Rooms will work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to implement a nurturing and stimulating Montessori program.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Assistance:
- Support the Lead Teacher in preparing and maintaining an organized, clean, and appealing learning environment.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining classroom materials and educational activities in line with Montessori principles.
2. Child Supervision and Care:
- Provide attentive care and supervision to infants and toddlers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Assist with routine tasks including feeding, diapering, and naptime, following all health and hygiene protocols.
3. Curriculum Implementation:
- Help implement the Montessori curriculum under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, ensuring alignment with the school's educational standards.
- Observe and document children’s progress and participate in assessment discussions.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain open communication with the Lead Teacher, sharing observations and insights about the children’s needs and progress.
- Engage with parents and guardians in a friendly and professional manner, providing updates on their child’s experiences and development.
5. Professional Growth:
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training in Montessori education and early childhood practices.
- Stay informed about current research and trends in Montessori education.
6. Health and Safety:
- Adhere to the school’s health and safety policies and protocols.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; At least 6 ECE (Early Childhood Education) units required, and must complete 3 units for ECE in Infant and Toddlers.
- Experience in a Montessori setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A nurturing, patient, and respectful approach to child guidance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fingerprint Clearance: Must pass fingerprint clearance checks from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting System (CACI).
- Health and Immunization: Must complete a health screening and have up-to-date immunizations for TB, Measles, Pertussis, and Influenza, or present an approved waiver for the Flu vaccine.
- Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 completion, or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
