Job Title: Assistant Nurse – Dental

Department: Dental Clinic

Reports To: Dentist / Senior Dental Nurse

Job Summary

The Assistant Nurse supports dental practitioners in providing safe, effective, and high-quality dental care. This role involves preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, maintaining sterilization standards, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and work areas.
• Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, mixing materials, and ensuring smooth workflow.
• Take and record patient vital signs, update charts, and prepare treatment records.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care as directed by the dentist.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Manage inventory of dental materials and request supplies when needed.
• Provide empathetic support and reassurance to patients.
• Perform other clinical or administrative tasks as assigned by the dentist or supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Certificate in Nursing/Dental Assisting (recognized program).
• DHA license or eligibility (as per UAE regulations).
• Previous experience in a dental clinic is preferred.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

Work Environment

• Clinical setting within a dental practice.
• May involve long periods of standing and assisting during procedures.
