Assistant Office Engineer

Pay Rate: $83,325 - $104,156

Assistant Office Engineer

Delve Underground is looking for an Assistant Office Engineer with 1-3 years of construction management experience in heavy civil or underground construction, to assist the Office Engineer in daily construction management duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Resident Engineer and the Office Engineer to assist them with receiving and logging field paperwork, to include;
    • Requests for Information (RFI)
    • Requests for Clarification (RFC)
    • Non Conformance Report (NCR)
    • Contractor Submittals
    • Construction Schedules
    • Inspection Reports and Logs
    • Meeting Minutes and assist with Agendas
    • Permitting
    • Change Management Logs
  • Review submittals for completeness and conformance with contract documents
  • Perform review and organize Change Orders, Overruns, T&M Sheets and Certified Payroll.
  • Participate in construction field meetings.
  • Perform occasional field inspections of the contractor's work.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary to facilitate the construction work.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management, or other related construction field.
  • 1-3 years' experience with civil infrastructure construction and inspection.
  • Experience in tunneling, microtunneling, and shaft excavation construction is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficiency and versed in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • CAD knowledge and drafting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with ProjectSight software is ideal.
  • Experience with reading contract drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to relocate for assignments as needed.
  • Willingness to work swing or night shifts when needed for inspection services.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position to perform field inspections which include: the ability to navigate over rough terrain, descend/ascend ladders into trenches or deep shafts, and the ability to carry up to 30 lbs. as needed.
  • Experience with OSHA, construction and similar safety requirements.
  • OSHA 10 hour, ACI (Grade 1), Hazwoper, Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall protection and additional training certificates preferred.
