Coffey Bros. Moving, a trusted and top-rated name in the moving industry, is looking for a Assistant Operations Manager to lead operations for a relunch in the Orlando area.
In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day dispatch operations, managing a fleet of 5+ box trucks (<26,000 lbs), and ensuring exceptional service from our moving teams. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is hands-on, detail-oriented, can work independently and understands the importance of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all daily dispatch operations and move logistics
- Manage fleet maintenance, safety checks, damage logs, and compliance (DOT, ILCC, FMCSA)
- Lead, train, and supervise movers and drivers, including hiring and performance management
- Monitor and maintain inventory of equipment, trucks, and moving supplies
- Respond to customer service issues, job closeouts, and claims when necessary
- Use GPS tracking to monitor job progress and address route delays or driver concerns
- Be available to assist crews on-site when needed (must be able to lift 75 lbs or more)
- Provide regular coaching and leadership to support team accountability and professionalism
- Maintain accurate records of employee performance, job schedules, and truck logs
- Must be available Monday–Saturday, and during 7-day stretch during peak “rush week” periods
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of proven management experience in logistics, transportation, or related service based industry.
- 3+ years of experience operating 26' box trucks (non-CDL ok)
- Clean and valid driver’s license (past 3 years)
- Able to identify and skill assess other's on Truck Driving safety
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach
- Physically capable of lifting 80 lbs or more and assisting on job sites when needed
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong multitasking ability and composure in high-pressure situations
- Strong customer service skills in problem solving & Professional demeanor to uphold white glove standards of service.
- Proficient with basic computer systems (Google Suite, Microsoft Office)
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Commitment to maintaining a drug-free, safety-first workplace is non-negotiable.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with GPS fleet tracking systems (Verizon Fleetmatics or equivalent)
- Experience managing teams in a service or logistics-based business
- Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA compliance standards
Compensation & Benefits:
- $50,000 annual base salary
- Performance-based bonus structure — opportunity to earn $100,000+ in first year
- Pay may be adjusted based on candidate’s qualifications and experience
