Under direct supervision, assists with overall operation and maintenance of a South Carolina State Park. Performs diversified duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of the Department.
- Assists with park administrative duties in accordance with Department policy and procedures and planning of long and short-term goals.
- Collect and account for revenue and produce required reports.
- Instruct, supervise and perform routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings and equipment to meet established standards.
- Manages assigned specific operations to include day use areas, retail operations, camping and cabin rentals, and other facilities.
- Assists in control of inventories of equipment and supplies by issue, use and counts; completes data reports.
- Interprets the cultural and natural resources of the State Park Service to park visitors and manages and conducts programs and events when needed.
- Performs Search and Rescue and park rule enforcement activities within his/her authority and established policy and provides a safe environment for visitors and staff.
Position is classified as a temporary employment position with the South Carolina Department of Parks Recreation and Tourism but is eligible to work 40 hours a week year round. The position is required to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. On park barracks style housing may be available.
