JJob Title: Senior Healthcare Operations Consultant (Private Practice Setup – Psychiatry)

About the Role

We are launching a new outpatient psychiatry practice and are seeking a highly experienced healthcare operations consultant to lead the setup of our administrative and billing infrastructure.

This is a short-term, high-impact engagement for someone who has personally set up systems like Availity and Waystar from scratch and can both implement and train.

Please do not apply if your experience is limited to working within existing systems. We are specifically looking for someone who has built workflows and configurations from the ground up.

What You’ll Own

You will be responsible for setting up and optimizing core revenue cycle and operational workflows, including:

• Full setup and configuration of Availity (payer visibility, enrollments, account structure)
• Implementation and optimization of Waystar (clearinghouse workflows, claim routing, ERA/EFT setup)
• Establishing payer connections (commercial + Medicare) and troubleshooting enrollment issues
• Designing front-end workflows:
• Insurance eligibility verification
• Copay/deductible collection
• Prior authorization processes
• Creating end-to-end billing workflows:
• Claim submission
• Rejections/denials management
• Payment posting guidance
• Advising on credentialing strategy and sequencing
• Training the practice owner/team on systems and best practices

Required Experience (Strict)

• Direct, hands-on experience setting up Availity and/or Waystar from scratch
• Experience launching or operationalizing a new medical practice
• Strong understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle management (RCM)
• Experience with payer enrollment and credentialing workflows
• Ability to independently diagnose setup gaps and recommend solutions

Preferred Experience

• Behavioral health / psychiatry practice experience
• Familiarity with EHRs such as eClinicalWorks (eCW)
• Experience working with major payers (Aetna, BCBS, UHC, Medicare)
• Prior consulting or training experience

Compensation

• $50–$100/hour (based on experience)
• 5–10 hours/week, flexible schedule

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
