Assistant Pre-K Teacher Faith-Based Child Care Center Daycare

Work Schedule: 8:30am-5:45pm (1.15 lunch schedule)

In this rewarding role, you will support classroom activities, assist in implementing curriculum plans, and create a safe, engaging environment for preschool children. Your passion for early childhood education and commitment to child welfare will contribute to shaping the foundational skills of our young learners.

Must pass a drug test, FBI fingerprint, background check, and have current certifications for Food Handler's and CPR/First-Aid Adult and Infant. Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in developing and executing age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies that promote a respectful and nurturing environment.
  • Engage children in activities that promote childhood development, including toddler care, early intervention techniques, and Montessori-inspired learning approaches.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports classroom management and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with staff to monitor each child's progress through observations and assessments, including standardized testing when appropriate.
  • Support special education initiatives by working with children requiring additional assistance or early intervention services.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on children’s progress and address any concerns related to child welfare or classroom activities.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, including curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for preschool-aged children.
  • Experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings, demonstrating patience and adaptability.
  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies that foster a positive learning environment.
  • Understanding of childhood development milestones, special education needs, and early intervention methods.
  • Ability to implement literacy education programs and support language development in young learners.
  • Competence in teaching physical education activities that promote motor skills and overall health.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, engaging with parents, and supporting children’s emotional well-being. Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
