Assistant Preschool Director

Are you ready to hone your leadership and administrative skills in a childcare setting? Heyward St Preschool is seeking a creative individual with strong initiative to join our team as our Assistant Preschool Director. Our preschool is committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. HSP is SCDSS licensed and ABC Quality (A).

Responsibilities:

• Work with Director to oversee daily operations of the preschool.
• Complete administrative duties related to DSS, ABC, and DHEC requirements, to include electronic submission of documents, organization of digital and paper files, and preparation of payroll documents.
• Support staff members to include providing on board training, monitoring professional development training, and assisting with staff evaluations.
• Maintain a safe, positive, kind learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers using all types of technology including our childcare management software, Famly.
• Must be proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, Canva, and social media.
• Monitor and maintain student to teacher ratios.
• As needed, substitute in a classroom.

Qualifications:

• Preferred applicants will hold a diploma in child development/education (CDA) and two or more years work experience in a childcare facility.
• Applicants with a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years of experience in a childcare facility will be considered.
• Preferred applicants will have a Career Ladder Level 2 or higher.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Professional attitude and communication style.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and education standards
• Registered with SC Endeavors
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word
• Proficient in Canva or other related software
