Assistant Teacher for Preschool Classroom

Christian environment where children may grow socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Assistant Teachers’s Job Description:
Focuses on providing a safe, loving and nurturing Christian environment for students’ ages 2, 3, or 4 years old on Monday- Thursday or Tuesday-Thursday each week from 8:00-1:00 pm.

The Assistant Teacher is expected to:

1) Be accountable to the Lead Preschool Teacher for daily direction and assistance in classroom schedule and preparation

2) Work professionally and in cooperation with Lead Preschool Teacher, other preschool teachers and staff at WJUMC

3) Actively interact with children through all activities to provide a safe, loving and enriching environment

4) Connect and communicate with parents at drop-off, pick-up and special events

5) Keep the preschool clean and in good order

6) Meet child safety and certification requirements in CPR, First Aid and AED

7) Have at least a high school diploma and preferred experiences working with young children
