Assistant Preschool Teacher - Afternoon

<Duties>

• Assist lead teachers with implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop self-regulation skills
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and social interaction
• Help organize classroom materials and prepare educational resources for upcoming lessons
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure safety and promote inclusive participation
• Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance as needed
• Communicate effectively with parents and team members to share updates on children’s progress and needs
• Aid in potty training and diaper changing as needed
• Aid in feeding assistance & serving meals as needed

<Skills>

• Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices in preschool education
• Experience with lesson planning across subjects such as literacy, math, and behavior management
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment
• Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with autism or other disabilities
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and caregivers
• Familiarity with Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus
• Prior classroom or daycare experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children is highly desirable
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations while maintaining patience and enthusiasm
• Must be able to lift 25lbs
