Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our morning program. The shift is 7am-1pm. The age group we are hiring for is our toddlers. In this vital role, you will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster early childhood development, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, implement curriculum plans, and contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and learning.
Duties
- Assist the lead preschool teacher in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through routines and activities
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, motor, and emotional development
- Help prepare classroom materials and educational resources for lessons on topics such as Montessori methods or other curricula
- Foster inclusive learning environments by working effectively with children of diverse abilities, including those with autism or disabilities
- Monitor children's safety at all times, ensuring a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and classroom activities
- Assist with toileting and diaper changes as needed
- Assist with feeding and serving meals as needed
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in childcare
- Classroom experience with lesson planning, behavior management, and curriculum implementation
- Familiarity with special education strategies and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and engage with children and families
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
