Big Wonder seeks an assistant teacher to support our mission of fostering an equitable, anti-bias learning community inspired by Reggio and Montessori approaches. We serve diverse families and are committed to innovation in early childhood education.
Position Overview
Co-teach as a float in two small preschool classroom with with 8 children each. Responsibilities include:
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Developing play-based programming and anti-bias learning frameworks with co-workers.
- Assessing and adapting to children's learning needs.
- Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Participating in professional development and contributing to action research in Anti-Bias and Anti-Racist Education, Social-Emotional Learning, and more.
- Modeling and mentoring best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Meets MN Rule 3 teacher requirements;
- Education in early childhood or related field preferred.
- 1+ years experience in child-centered program.
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or social justice education is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
