Education

Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject. Valid teaching qualification and UAE-approved teaching license. Postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership (desirable).

Experience

Minimum 5 years successful teaching experience. At least 2 years in a recognised middle or senior leadership role. Proven experience leading improvement across multiple teams, subjects, or year groups.

Competencies

• Curriculum, assessment, and progression leadership across a cycle
• Data-informed improvement planning
• Experience with ADEK, DSIB, NEASC, CIS or similar frameworks
• Leadership and line management of middle leaders
• International school experience
• Fully qualified to teach in the UAE

Primary Job Purpose

Responsible to the Vice Principal for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of teaching, learning, assessment, and student experience across the assigned cycle. The role integrates academic leadership and pastoral oversight, ensuring high standards, consistency of practice, and positive outcomes for all students.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide strategic leadership for teaching and learning across the cycle
• Ensure curriculum coherence, progression, and alignment across subjects and year group
• Oversee assessment practices, moderation, and data analysis
• Line manage Heads of Faculty and other designated middle leaders
• Contribute to staff appraisal, recruitment, induction, and professional development
• Ensure consistent implementation of behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding policies
• Monitor academic and pastoral data to remove barriers to learning
• Support transitions within and between cycles
• Contribute evidence to inspection, accreditation, and self-evaluation processes
• Support timetable planning, staffing deployment, and resourcing
• Act as delegate for the Vice Principal when required

Other Duties

• May be required to undertake teaching and additional responsibilities as directed by the Principal or Vice Principal.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role. As reasonably requested by the management
