Assistant Professor - Clinical Education Coordinator

Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor -Clinical Education Coordinator This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.

The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching and student advising in the didactic and clinical phases of the MSAT program and to serve as the Clinical Education Coordinator. The Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) is responsible for developing athletic training clinical experience (ATCE) sites and strives to ensure that student clinical experiences will take place only at those sites which meet defined criteria as quality learning centers for students. The CEC facilitates problem solving related to clinical issues as requested by clinical preceptors, faculty or students.

In addition, faculty within the program are expected to participate in interprofessional education opportunities; participate in scholarship; and provide service including active participation on division, school, and university committees. This position will also include the opportunity for clinical practice of 8 hours per week as service to the AT profession.

Required Skills

• Be a certified athletic trainer by the BOC in good standing and is required to
• Have or be eligible for a Virginia licensure as an athletic trainer.
• A clinically related doctorate (DAT or DPT) or traditional doctorate (EdD, PhD, DHSc, ScD) is required.
• 2-3 years experience serving as a clinical coordinator for a Masters level Athletic Training Program
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
