Position Summary

The School of Business and Technology at Holy Family University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Applied Computer Science, beginning in Fall 2026.

This position is focused exclusively on teaching undergraduate students in a growing program that emphasizes applied skills, hands-on learning, and career readiness. The ideal candidate will be a student-centered educator with experience in curriculum development, academic advising, and service to the academic and professional community.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Participates in the development and evaluation of the undergraduate curricula in Information Systems and Applied Computer Science.
  • Develops, teaches, and evaluates assigned undergraduate courses in areas such as programming, cybersecurity, software engineering, and data systems.
  • Demonstrates the ability to teach in-person as well as in online/hybrid modalities.
  • Serves as faculty advisor to students in technology-related majors, supporting academic progress and career planning.
  • Assumes responsibility for serving as course coordinator as appropriate.
  • Actively participates in School and University affairs, community activities, and professional organizations.
  • Formulates and implements a personal plan for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Demonstrates a clear commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Education & Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field (ABD considered with completion by August 2026).
  • Demonstrated success or potential in undergraduate teaching.
  • Ability to teach effectively both in person and online.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the mission of Holy Family University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience advising or mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Industry or applied experience in computer science or related fields.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and instructional technologies.
  • Interest or experience in accreditation processes.
  • Engagement with interdisciplinary based learning.
