Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Computer Science

Job description:

kuwait technical college is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates to join our Computer Science faculty as an Assistant Professor (PhD holder) or Lecturer (Master's holder). The ideal candidates should have a strong academic background and a passion for teaching and research. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to undergraduate students while contributing to research, professional development, and teamwork within the department.


Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate-level courses in Computer Science, including but not limited to Programming, Data Structures, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Networking and Database Systems.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, interactive, and industry-relevant course materials.
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and capstone projects.
  • Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and projects while providing constructive feedback.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in Computer Science and integrate them into teaching methodologies.

Research & Scholarly Activities (For PhD Holders):

  • Conduct research in the field of Computer Science and actively contribute to the institution’s research output.
  • Publish research in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Seek research funding and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Supervise undergraduate student research projects and encourage student involvement in research activities.

Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with colleagues and faculty members to enhance the quality of the Computer Science curriculum.
  • Participate in department meetings, academic committees, and institutional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions for curriculum enhancement and research opportunities.

Self & Professional Development:

  • Engage in continuous professional development, including attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in Computer Science, higher education pedagogy, and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Maintain professional certifications and technical skills relevant to the field.

Student Mentorship & Guidance:

  • Provide academic advising and career guidance to students.
  • Encourage students to participate in coding competitions, hackathons, and extracurricular technical activities.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students.
