The Assistant Project Manager position is an integral member of the project management team responsible for delivering complex mixed-use projects in markets across the south-eastern US.

The Assistant Project Manager helps monitor project status and identifies project risk and issues. This position assists the Project Management staff with management, coordination, and oversight from early project conception through completion. This position coordinates daily project delivery activities with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Work to keep project delivery schedules on target, within budget, and in accordance with project documents, contractual requirements, and overall project goals.


Identify project issues and risks; coordinate and support timely resolution and mitigation. Monitor project activities to ensure the minimal impact to project schedule and budget.


Responsible for managing and reviewing project documentation to ensure quality, completeness, and accuracy.


Support the preparation of project schedules, estimates, and milestones.


In collaboration with the project Principal, assist in developing project scope, requirements, design criteria, reviewing proposals and contract changes, and facilitating distribution and review of transmittals and deliverables.


Review and recommend approval of contract invoices and other project charges based on established procedures. Manage project document control and retention.


Prepare reports, presentations, research, and studies in support of new project underwriting and budgeting.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business or Public Administration, or a related field.


Minimum of (2) years of progressively responsible, full-time experience in project management, design and/or construction management, engineering, or architecture. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Experience in project management/coordination, design, or construction management for multi-use construction projects or projects with highly complex systems preferred.


Knowledge of construction project planning, scheduling, and estimating. Familiarity with design and construction standards and procedures, contract documents, specifications, and plans.


Solid leadership ability, problem-solving and decision-making skills.


Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Strong business administration skills (i.e. report and letter writing, spreadsheets, time management) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


Travel may be required.
