Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role focuses on documentation, subcontractor coordination, cost tracking, and schedule support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing day-to-day project operations across multiple commercial construction projects

Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting efforts

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers

Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation

Help maintain project schedules and monitor progress against milestones

Review subcontractor bids and assist with buyout processes

Track project costs, assist with forecasting, and process invoices/pay applications

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance

Participate in project meetings and distribute meeting minutes

Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and final documentation
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)

1–4+ years of experience in commercial construction (internships included)

Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and building systems

Familiarity with document control and project coordination workflows
Technical Skills

Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Exposure to scheduling tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 (a plus)
