Assistant Project Manager

The Kulka Group is seeking an ambitious and driven Assistant Project Manager to join our growing commercial construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction management while working on exciting and impactful projects throughout Long Island and the New York metropolitan area.

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, Clients, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors to help manage projects from preconstruction through closeout. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to problem solve under pressure, and a genuine desire to learn all aspects of commercial construction project management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing commercial construction projects from start to finish
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and field teams
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement logs, and project documentation
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up items
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
  • Support buyout and procurement efforts
  • Coordinate with Superintendents to ensure smooth project execution in the field
  • Communicate with clients, architects, and engineers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation
  • Maintain project organization using construction management software platforms

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of commercial construction experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the company

Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
