Assistant Project Manager

SoBran is seeking Assistant Project Manager for our Washington DC location and with administrative and operational support to include oversee/maintain Operational supplies, oversee a diverse team of people, knowledgeable of mail sorting/screening, knowledge and use of the Processing Operating Procedures and the Emergency Action Plan. Work with monthly budgets, generating spreadsheets and databases. Interacting with Client and other onsite Government employees. High knowledge of Microsoft office 365 and Laboratory Management Systems. Work hours will be 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of daily operational activities.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to Zone Supervisors and Operations Support Specialists.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure mission requirements and service levels are achieved.
  • Oversee mail screening and processing activities in accordance with established Processing Operating Procedures (POP).
  • Ensure compliance with the Emergency Action Plan (EAP), quality control standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Generate, maintain, and analyze operational reports, spreadsheets, databases, audits, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor operational inventories and maintain adequate levels of supplies and equipment.
  • Support budget tracking and resource management activities.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for government representatives and client personnel regarding operational matters.
  • Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, candidate interviews, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with security, safety, and operational procedures.


Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mail screening operations.
  • Proven experience in quality control and quality assurance processes; prior experience as a Quality Control (QC) Technician is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge following Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
  • Ability to assess changing workload demands and effectively plan, allocate, and balance staffing resources to meet operational and mission requirements.
  • Experience generating, maintaining, and analyzing operational reports, databases, audits, and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and maintenance of operational supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to participate in candidate interviews, hiring activities, and applicant processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, ensure compliance with established procedures, and support continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to perform additional duties and special assignments as required.
  • Active Secret Security Clearnce preferred; candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
