Assistant Project Manager (Field-Focused) – Mission Critical Construction
Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex (Hybrid: Field + Office)
Role Overview
This is a hands-on Assistant Project Manager role designed for someone who wants to build real-world construction judgment through both field and project exposure.
You will support project execution across both the desk and the field—working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to coordinate work, track progress, and help maintain alignment across safety, schedule, and quality.
You will spend time in active job site environments, assisting with coordination, observing installation, identifying potential constraints, and learning how real-time decisions impact project outcomes.
This role is intended to develop a builder’s mindset, including:
- Understanding means and methods
- Learning sequencing and trade flow
- Recognizing field constraints and constructability challenges
- Connecting field conditions to schedule, cost, and risk
Projects may take place in:
- Active manufacturing facilities
- Cleanrooms
- Shutdown environments
- Occupied buildings
These environments require attention to detail, strong communication, and disciplined coordination.
What You’ll Do
Preconstruction & Planning
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope to understand project requirements
- Support estimating efforts and subcontractor/vendor outreach
- Participate in constructability reviews with project leadership
- Assist in developing schedules and phasing plans
- Support procurement coordination and material tracking
Field & Execution Support
- Assist with daily job site coordination and production tracking
- Participate in site walks to observe progress and installation quality
- Help identify and communicate field constraints to project leadership
- Support subcontractor coordination and trade sequencing efforts
- Participate in safety walks and reinforce jobsite safety expectations
Project Controls & Communication
- Prepare and manage RFIs under PM guidance
- Maintain document control (logs, revisions, submittals, addenda)
- Track project costs, general conditions, and labor progress
- Attend OAC meetings and support meeting documentation
- Assist in coordinating communication between stakeholders

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 1–4 years of construction experience (internship, field, or project support)
- Basic understanding of construction processes and documents
- OSHA-10 certification completed or in progress
- Interest in mission-critical or industrial construction environments is a plus
Pay: $70,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
