A growing and well-established general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support active construction projects across the New York City area.

This is a hands-on role working directly with experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, supporting projects from early construction through closeout. The position offers strong exposure to both project management and field operations, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a full Project Manager role over time.

The company has a steady pipeline of work across multiple project types and is known for developing junior talent into long-term leaders within the organization.

Responsibilities

Assist with RFIs, submittals, and project documentation management
Support subcontractor coordination and procurement
Track change orders, budgets, and project cost updates
Assist with schedule tracking and coordination with field teams
Help coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
Maintain project records and assist with reporting requirements
Support project closeout documentation and turnover

Qualifications

2-5 years of construction experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager
Exposure to commercial, residential, or mixed-use construction projects
Familiarity with construction documentation including RFIs and submittals
Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Motivated to grow within project management
