Position Overview
Schaeffer Homes is hiring an entry-level Assistant Project Manager to support residential construction projects. This role combines hands-on field training with administrative and coordination support, including regular travel to active job sites and occasional driving support for company leadership.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday (approximately 40-50 hours/week). Start times may vary based on jobsite needs.
Responsibilities
Field / Project Support

Assist with coordination of residential construction projects

Conduct jobsite walkthroughs to monitor quality and progress

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors

Support scheduling and project timelines

Assist with punch lists, repairs, and warranty work
Field & Travel Support

Transport company leadership to job sites and meetings as needed

Operate and maintain a company vehicle

Plan routes and manage daily travel logistics

Assist with material pickups and document delivery

Provide basic administrative and coordination support
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license with clean record

Strong organizational and communication skills

Comfortable working outdoors and traveling regularly

Construction or trade experience

Interest in construction management career growth
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally

Ability to walk active construction sites
