Assistant Project Manager – QA/QC/Safety (On-site)

About the Role
American Combustion Industries (ACI) is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager / QC–QA / Safety Officer to join our team for a large water treatment plant retrofit project in Alexandria, Virginia. This role works closely with the Project Manager and the Safety Manager, supporting the QA, QC and safety duties on-site of a large mechanical retrofit project.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow in project management while gaining exposure to a fast‑paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager with daily project activities and coordination
- Prepare and manage submittals, daily reports, and project documentation
- Maintain organized records and ensure documentation complies with project specifications and contract requirements
Quality Control / Quality Assurance
- Support implementation of QC/QA procedures in accordance with project specifications
- Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and contract documents
- Prepare and maintain quality control documentation and reports
Safety Oversight
- Serve as the on-site Safety Officer
- Conduct and document daily safety meetings (toolbox talks)
- Complete daily safety reports and documentation
- Identify and report safety concerns to the ACI Safety Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety protocols
What We’re Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience including QA/QC and Safety responsibilities on a construction site
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to interpret and understand job spec and blueprints
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid and confined space training
Work Environment
- On-site at a large project in Alexandria, VA
- Able to climb up/down ladders, walk distances and enter confined spaces

Compensation (Salary): $75 - $83K/year, based on qualifications and experience.
