About the Role

American Combustion Industries (ACI) is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager / QC–QA / Safety Officer to join our team for a large water treatment plant retrofit project in Alexandria, Virginia. This role works closely with the Project Manager and the Safety Manager, supporting the QA, QC and safety duties on-site of a large mechanical retrofit project.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow in project management while gaining exposure to a fast‑paced projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

• Assist the Project Manager with daily project activities and coordination
• Prepare and manage submittals, daily reports, and project documentation
• Maintain organized records and ensure documentation complies with project specifications and contract requirements

Quality Control / Quality Assurance

• Support implementation of QC/QA procedures in accordance with project specifications
• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and contract documents
• Prepare and maintain quality control documentation and reports

Safety Oversight

• Serve as the on-site Safety Officer
• Conduct and document daily safety meetings (toolbox talks)
• Complete daily safety reports and documentation
• Identify and report safety concerns to the ACI Safety Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety protocols

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience including QA/QC and Safety responsibilities on a construction site
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to interpret and understand job spec and blueprints
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently
• OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid and confined space training

Work Environment

• On-site at a large project in Alexandria, VA
• Able to climb up/down ladders, walk distances and enter confined spaces
• Team‑oriented environment

Compensation (Salary): $75 - $83K/year, based on qualifications and experience.
