Responsibilities
- Assist in leasing activities, including property tours, tenant screening, and lease signings, with a focus on property leasing and upselling amenities or services.
- Support rent collection processes, including data entry, payment processing, and follow-up on overdue accounts while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests by liaising with vendors and facilities management teams to ensure timely repairs and upkeep.
- Maintain accurate records through filing, data entry, and managing electronic systems such as Yardi or OneSite for lease administration and tenant information.
- Help enforce lease agreements and legal compliance by understanding landlord-tenant law and Section 8 regulations; assist in resolving conflicts professionally.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant inquiries via phone or in person, demonstrating strong phone etiquette and customer relationship management skills.
- Support administrative functions such as preparing contracts, managing office correspondence, and maintaining legal administrative documentation related to property management.
Skills
- Proven experience with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, Fair Housing laws, and landlord-tenant law to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Excellent conflict management skills coupled with negotiation abilities to resolve tenant issues effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in real estate administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and contract management.
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to build positive tenant relationships.
- Ability to handle property maintenance coordination efficiently while supporting facilities management efforts.
