Overview
Join our dynamic property management team as an Assistant Property Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residential communities. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to support property leasing, tenant relations, and administrative functions while maintaining compliance with fair housing regulations and Section 8 programs. You will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service, managing property maintenance, and assisting with lease administration to create a welcoming and well-managed environment for residents and staff alike.
Duties
- Assist in managing day-to-day property operations, including leasing activities, tenant communications, and rent collection processes.
- Support the preparation and review of lease agreements, contracts, and legal documents, ensuring adherence to landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests, oversee facilities management tasks, and ensure timely resolution of issues using systems like Yardi or OneSite.
- Conduct property tours for prospective tenants, upselling available units and amenities to maximize occupancy rates.
- Maintain accurate data entry, filing systems, and records related to tenant files, lease documentation, and compliance reports.
- Assist in resolving conflicts between tenants or staff through effective conflict management strategies.
- Support administrative functions such as phone etiquette, customer relationship management (CRM), and legal administrative tasks related to LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) properties and Section 8 programs.
Experience
- Preferred experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with a focus on residential or commercial properties.
- Familiarity with LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing policies, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally via phone or in person.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, upsell units or services, and manage contracts effectively.
- Office experience involving data entry, filing, legal documentation handling, and facilities management tasks.
- Excellent conflict management skills combined with negotiation abilities to foster positive tenant relationships.
- Knowledge of property maintenance procedures, health & safety standards, and basic facilities management practices.
