Assistant Property Manager

Job Summary
Join our dynamic property management team as an Assistant Property Manager, where your enthusiasm and organizational skills will drive exceptional resident experiences and operational excellence. In this energetic role, you will support the day-to-day management of residential properties, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, maintaining property standards, and fostering positive relationships with residents, vendors, and team members. Your proactive approach will help create vibrant communities while upholding the highest standards of customer service and administrative efficiency.

Duties

  • Assist in managing leasing activities, including property tours, tenant screening, and lease signings to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Support rent collection processes, including data entry into property management systems like Yardi or OneSite, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Coordinate property maintenance requests and inspections to ensure facilities are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant files, legal documents, contracts, and compliance documentation in accordance with Fair Housing regulations and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) guidelines.
  • Handle customer inquiries via phone and email with professionalism and courtesy, providing excellent service to residents and prospects alike.
  • Assist in enforcing lease agreements, landlord-tenant laws, Section 8 regulations, and fair housing policies to promote legal compliance.
  • Support conflict management efforts by mediating resident concerns and resolving disputes efficiently while maintaining positive relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles, with familiarity using Yardi, OneSite or similar property management software.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing vouchers, landlord-tenant law, fair housing regulations, and legal administrative procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Experience in property leasing, sales techniques including upselling amenities or services to residents or prospects.
  • Office experience involving data entry, filing systems (physical or electronic), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and general administrative tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while demonstrating strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
  • Facilities management knowledge including basic property maintenance oversight and vendor coordination is a plus. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
