Assistant Property Manager

About Us

We are a small, growing property management operation overseeing multiple apartment communities throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. We are looking for a proactive, organized, and dependable Assistant Property Manager to help support leasing, tenant relations, property operations, and administrative functions.

About the Job

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and can bring structure and follow-through to a fast-paced operation. You'll wear multiple hats, from leasing and tenant relations to vendor coordination, administrative support, and occasional personal assistant tasks for the owner. If you're someone who naturally spots gaps, builds systems, and gets things done without being asked twice, we want to hear from you!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leasing & Tenant Relations

  • Respond promptly to inbound rental inquiries via email, phone, and listing platforms (Zillow, Apartments.com, AppFolio, etc.)
  • Schedule and conduct apartment tours for prospective tenants
  • Follow up with leads to support occupancy goals
  • Handle ongoing tenant communication, notices, and general inquiries

Property Operations & Administration

  • Support day-to-day operations across multiple buildings throughout Greater Los Angeles
  • Post notices and assist with unit inspections as needed
  • Maintain organized records of tenant communications, leases, maintenance logs, and property updates
  • Help ensure compliance with local housing guidelines and property procedures

Vendor Coordination & Maintenance Support

  • Research vendors and obtain competitive quotes for maintenance and repair projects
  • Coordinate scheduling with contractors and service providers
  • Follow up to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of work

Administrative & Executive Support

  • Provide administrative support to the owner and senior property manager
  • Coordinate appointments, schedules, vendor visits, and meetings
  • Conduct research and compile information for special projects
  • Assist with occasional personal tasks as needed (e.g., errands, returns, scheduling) in support of efficient daily operations

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with tenants, vendors, and prospective renters
  • Proactive self-starter who manages shifting priorities without constant direction
  • Tech-savvy: proficient with email, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and property platforms (AppFolio, Zillow, Apartments.com, etc.)
  • Previous experience in property management, leasing, real estate, or administrative operations preferred
  • Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Must be available for occasional weekday and weekend showings

SCHEDULE & WORK STYLE

  • Part-time with flexible hours based on leasing activity and property needs
  • Hybrid location: office administrative work, remote, and on-site property visits
  • Occasional travel between multiple property locations throughout Greater Los Angeles required
