The Assistant Property Manager (Corporate Operations) supports day-to-day property
management functions across a multifamily portfolio from a centralized platform. This role is
responsible for ensuring consistent execution of leasing, collections, maintenance coordination,
and resident communications in alignment with company standards.
Operating as an extension of onsite teams, this position plays a key role in driving
responsiveness, occupancy performance, and resident satisfaction while maintaining
operational discipline across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing & Occupancy Support
- Respond to leasing inquiries, qualify prospects in collaboration with onsite teams
- Process rental applications, conduct screening, and prepare lease
documentation
- Track leasing performance and follow up on leads to support occupancy goals
- Assist with onboarding new tenants
- Ensure leasing activities align with company standards and fair housing
compliance
Resident Communication & Tenant Relations
- Serve as a professional point of contact for resident inquiries, requests, and
escalations
- Coordinate and document all tenant communications in property management
systems
- Support lease renewals, notices, and general correspondence
- Maintain a high standard of responsiveness and service quality
Rent Collection & Delinquency Management
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Issue notices and coordinate payment plans in accordance with company policy
- Assist in delinquency reporting and support eviction processes as needed
Maintenance Coordination
- Receive and manage maintenance requests through property management
systems
- Coordinate with vendors and onsite staff to ensure timely resolution
- Track work order progress, vendor performance, and completion timelines
- Ensure proper documentation and follow-through on all service requests
Operational & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within property management software
(AppFolio)
- Assist with reporting on leasing activity, collections, and maintenance metrics
- Support onboarding of new properties, transitions, and special projects
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance
requirements
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in property management, preferably with exposure to
multifamily portfolios
- Working knowledge of leasing processes, rent collections, and maintenance
coordination
- Proficiency in property management software (AppFolio, highly preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties and
priorities simultaneously
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
