Summit Industrial Contractors is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager/Inventory Manager to support procurement, inventory control, and material flow for fabrication, conveyor assemblies, and field installations. This role is critical to keeping production moving by ensuring materials are purchased on time, inventory is accurate, and project schedules are supported.
Job duties include:
-Assist with purchasing of materials, components, and services.
-Create, track, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
-Maintain accurate inventory levels and reorder points.
-Perform cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
-Coordinate material availability with production, fabrication, and project teams.
-Support vendor communications, pricing, and lead time tracking.
-Reduce material shortages, emergency purchases, and excess inventory.
-Maintain purchasing and inventory records in inventory systems.
Qualifications:
-3+years experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain.
-Background in industrial construction, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred.
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills.-Experience with inventory management systems.
-Ability to work in a fast paced, production-driven environment is a MUST. Preferred experience:
-Conveyors systems, fabrication shops, or industrial contracting.
-Knowledge of steel, mechanical components, and industrial hardware.
-Job-based or project purchasing experience.
