Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Assistant QA Engineer to join our technical team. In this role, you will assist the Senior QA Manager in executing test plans, identifying software defects, and ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards before deployment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a technical background to grow their career in Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Execution: Execute manual test cases (functional, regression, and sanity testing) across web and mobile applications.
  • Bug Reporting: Identify, record, and document bugs thoroughly using tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), ensuring steps to reproduce are clear for developers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and verify fixes.
  • Documentation: Assist in maintaining test plans, test cases, and release documentation.
  • Automation Support: Assist in running existing automated test scripts and learning to write basic automation code under supervision.
  • User Feedback: Help investigate customer-reported issues and reproduce them in a test environment.

Technical Requirements

  • Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Bug Tracking: Hands-on experience or familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools like JIRA, Asana, or Trello.
  • Database Skills: Basic proficiency in SQL to run queries for backend verification/data validation.
  • API Testing: Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman is highly desirable.
  • Web Technologies: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Automation Exposure: Basic knowledge of automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) or scripting languages (Python, Java) is a plus.

Qualifications & Education

  • Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in software testing or a similar technical role (internships count!).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
