- Field Inspection and Supervision (QA/QC):
- Monitor and inspect the quality of earthwork, filling, and embankment construction (e.g., layer thickness, slope stability).
- Supervise the laying and compaction of Sub-Base (GSB) and Base Layers (WMM/WBM), ensuring required layer thickness and camber are achieved.
- Oversee Bituminous Paving operations, including checking temperatures of mix plants and pavers, spreading rates, and compaction patterns.
- Conduct pre-pour checks for all structures (culverts, retaining walls, bridges) including rebar clearance, shuttering, and concrete mix design compliance.
- Testing and Compliance:
- Assist in performing or supervising all mandatory field tests such as:
- Soil Compaction Tests (Core Cutter or Sand Replacement Method).
- Field Density Tests (FDTs).
- CBR (California Bearing Ratio) tests.
- Aggregate Gradation and Flakiness/Elongation Index tests.
- Ensure all testing is conducted using calibrated equipment and documented correctly.
- Verify that all materials (aggregates, cement, bitumen) comply with the approved sources and specifications before use.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and manage all quality records, including Inspection Request (IR) forms for client/consultant approval, ITP check sheets, and daily quality reports.
