We are supporting a leading engineering consultancy delivering major high-voltage cable infrastructure and utility corridor projects across Abu Dhabi. We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil (Cable Works) to support site supervision activities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across civil works related to HV cable installation.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the site supervision team, you will assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing civil works for HV cable projects, including:

• Conducting regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality
• Reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and ITPs
• Monitoring contractor works to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and approved procedures
• Witnessing site activities and testing, including:
• trench excavation and backfilling
• duct bank installation and concrete works
• compaction testing
• reinstatement and finishing works
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and attending technical coordination meetings
• Supporting snagging, final inspections, certification , and project handover processes
• Ensuring HSE standards and safe site practices are followed at all times
• Preparing inspection reports and supporting documentation for authority approvals

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Minimum 8 years of experience in the UAE , with strong site supervision background

Proven experience on HV cable / utility corridor / infrastructure civil works

Solid understanding of QA/QC processes, ITPs, method statements, and inspection reporting

Strong communication and coordination skills

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary site environment

Preferred

Previous TRANSCO approval (highly advantageous)

Experience working with Abu Dhabi utility standards and authorities
