Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant School Business Administrator to join our educational team. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Support budgeting processes by developing financial forecasts, monitoring expenditures, and implementing cost control measures aligned with strategic goals.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, account reconciliation, and maintaining accurate general ledger records.
- Conduct risk analysis related to financial operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and governmental accounting policies.
- Oversee treasury management activities such as cash flow analysis, investment management, and fiscal planning to optimize resource utilization.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for internal review and external compliance reporting; interpret complex financial data to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning initiatives, including cost management strategies, revenue enhancement opportunities, and long-term financial sustainability efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Familiarity with IAS (International Accounting Standards), ASC 606 revenue standards, regulatory reporting requirements, and governmental accounting practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and cost control techniques.
- Proficiency in financial software systems such as ERP platforms or specialized accounting tools; advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately; excellent report writing capabilities.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence strategic decisions effectively.
- Knowledge of public accounting principles and technical accounting practices related to accrual accounting and general ledger reconciliation is highly desirable.
