We are looking for a dedicated and organized Assistant Director to support the Director with managing programs, coordinating cultural activities, and ensuring high-quality learning experiences. This individual will help oversee staff, communicate with families, and contribute to the center’s growth and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director in planning, organizing, and managing educational and cultural programs.
Supervise and support teachers, classroom aides, and staff to maintain quality instruction and a positive learning environment.
Help implement curriculum, lesson plans, and cultural activities aligned with the center’s goals.
Communicate with parents and families, sharing student progress and responding to inquiries.
Manage daily operations, including attendance tracking, scheduling, and classroom logistics.
Support marketing, community outreach, and student enrollment efforts.
Help plan and execute cultural events, student showcases, and special programs.
Monitor program quality and recommend improvements to enhance student learning and engagement.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students and families.
Qualification
Minimum 2 years of experience in education, youth programs, cultural centers, or school administration.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Passion for language, culture, and community-based education.
Bilingual in Amharic and English preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and engage effectively with families.
Must be available during after-school hours and Saturdays.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
Work Location: In person
