Assistant Security Director

Position: Assistant Security Director

Wages: $19.50

Schedule: Monday to Friday day shift, 8-hour shifts

Location: Alma College - Alma, MI

Assistant Security Director Description:

STT Security Services is seeking internal applicants with previous security supervisory experience in a College/University security setting or experience in a similar security capacity. A working knowledge of industry specific federal regulations on Title XI and the Clery Act is a must.

Individuals must demonstrate strong leadership skills, be a motivating leader, carry a positive attitude and display an inherent sense of ownership in his/her work. Must be able to effectively navigate and manage a comprehensive, electronic report writing software program. Must be able to navigate an access control system and surveillance cameras and applicable software. Individuals will be responsible for oversight of Security Officer Training, Department of Higher Education training and FEMA training for all security staff.

Applicants should have excellent customer service and communication skills, be knowledgeable of commonly used computer programs and be comfortable using electronic technology. Strong report writing skills with proper use of grammar and excellent spelling are a must. Applicants must be able to manage a stressful and/or confrontational situation with confidence. Conflict resolution and situational de-escalation will be paramount skills as well.

The applicant must also demonstrate the ability to manage a staff of up to 10 employees and possess strong oral and written communication skills to a broad constituency including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Will be responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the security team including but not limited to scheduling, payroll and personnel management. This individual will be working closely with college executives and must be able to interact with a high degree of professionalism, finesse, and stature. Finally, must demonstrate reliability, dependability, and flexibility with a schedule accessible 24 hours a day for emergency related matters.
