Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Lead and motivate a team of sales associates to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching and training
• Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
• Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring a positive shopping experience through excellent customer service
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
• Oversee cash handling, POS transactions, and payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Implement marketing strategies and promotional activities to boost store traffic and sales performance
• Maintain organized records of sales, bookkeeping, and inventory management for smooth administrative operations

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with supervising responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
• Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and training & development
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices
• Ability to handle cash handling accurately and perform retail math calculations confidently
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership qualities with experience supervising teams, managing shifts, and developing staff members
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or wireless sales is a plus but not required
