We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support our classroom environment and help foster a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning experience for students. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, collaborative, and committed to helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering daily lessons and classroom activities.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional support.
- Help manage student behavior using positive guidance strategies.
- Prepare instructional materials, supplies, and classroom resources as needed.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, and lunch.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging atmosphere for all students.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, and families.
- Support school policies, procedures, and curriculum goals.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children (school, childcare, tutoring, or related experience).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and school staff.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new educational tools.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
- Classroom management support experience.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
