Assistant Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support our classroom environment and help foster a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning experience for students. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, collaborative, and committed to helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional support.
• Help manage student behavior using positive guidance strategies.
• Prepare instructional materials, supplies, and classroom resources as needed.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, and lunch.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging atmosphere for all students.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, and families.
• Support school policies, procedures, and curriculum goals.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with children (school, childcare, tutoring, or related experience).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and school staff.
• Patience, reliability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new educational tools.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
• Classroom management support experience.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
