Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and foster a positive learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will be willing to work in early childhood education, special education, and experience working with children with diverse needs, including those with autism and disabilities. The Assistant Teacher will play a vital role in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and supporting individual student growth in both daycare and preschool environments.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including Montessori and preschool curricula.
- Supervise the Classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the classroom.
- Help with general house keeping tasks.
- Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in other ways requested.
- Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the center at all times
- Treat all children with dignity and respect.
- Attended all staff meetings and recommended training programs.
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education practices, including working with children with autism or disabilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage parents.
- Ability to implement lesson plans focused on literacy education, math skills, behavior management, and curriculum development.
- Experience with Montessori methods or preschool programs is a plus.
- Patience, compassion, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with young learners.
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment dedicated to fostering inclusive learning experiences for all children.
- Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene; change diapers and assist with toilet training.
- Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Report to Lead Teacher with any problems, which may occur with the children.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
