Little Sunflowers Child Care is seeking a reliable, nurturing, and responsible Full-Time Assistant Teacher to join our Group Family Daycare located in the village of Cobleskill, NY.
We are a small, home-based program that takes pride in providing a safe, structured, and loving environment where children can learn, play, and grow. We are looking for someone who is patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with young children.
This is a full-time position with a consistent weekday schedule, ideal for someone looking for a stable role in a positive and supportive childcare environment.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Approximate hours: 7:30-4:30

Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children
- Assist with daily routines including meals, snacks, diapering/toileting, and nap time
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including play, crafts, and learning experiences
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment in accordance with NYS OCFS regulations
- Support a structured daily schedule while remaining responsive to children’s needs
- Use positive guidance techniques to support children’s social and emotional development
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with the provider, children, and families
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Assist with general daily tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing activities
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass all required NYS OCFS background checks and clearances
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Comfortable caring for infants through school-age children (8 weeks-10 years old)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to lift, carry, and actively engage with children throughout the day
- Must have reliable transportation
Preferred but not required:
- Previous childcare experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Early Childhood Education background or coursework
