De La Madre Daycare is a home daycare in East Austin, TX (78721) providing care to children ages 1.5-5.5 years of age. De La Madre (of the Mother) Daycare creates a community for young children which fosters free play and nurtures connection to nature. We are looking for an assistant teacher to support the lead teachers! The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for nature, community, free-play and simple living. Must love kids and having lots of fun, as you will be immersed daily in a joyful outdoor learning environment complete with a tricycle track, natural playground and much more!

Monday-Thursday 745am-145pm

Start date: March 2026

Responsibilities:

• Supervise groups of children (maximum ratio of children to caregiver is 4-the 6:1).
• Lead group activities such as story time.
• Communicate with parent(s) throughout the shift using specified "ap".
• Assist with positive guidance of students.
• Assists with students' activities of daily living (toileting, eating, washing up, etc)

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or above
• First & CPR
• Background check clear
• Completion of required training materials
• Reliably commute to work
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Move freely in all ranges of motion (bend, twist, squat, lunge, push and pull)
• Must be able to be outdoors for at least 4-a 6 hour per day during ALL SEASONS

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
