Assistant Teacher-Twos Classroom

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher to inspire and nurture the development of our two-year-old classroom. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curricula tailored to the developmental needs of two-year-olds, incorporating elements of literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
  • Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that stimulate curiosity and support cognitive, motor, and language development.
  • Manage daily classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring smooth transitions and effective classroom management strategies.
  • Foster strong communication with children to support their emotional welfare and promote positive interactions among peers.
  • Collaborate with families to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and address individual needs related to special education or early intervention programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress through assessments and standardized testing when applicable.
  • Support other staff members through mentorship and sharing best practices in childhood development and daycare operations.
  • Uphold all safety protocols, health regulations, and child welfare standards to ensure a secure learning environment.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to preschool experience, Montessori methods, or other educational philosophies to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Skills

  • Extensive experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or daycare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math (including Montessori methods), physical education, and social-emotional skills.
  • Experience with special education needs and early intervention programs to support diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Ability to design engaging lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities and standardized testing when necessary.
  • Familiarity with preschool teaching practices including classroom experience with toddlers and private school environments.
  • Knowledge of child welfare standards along with experience in childcare or daycare settings.
  • Competence in utilizing various teaching tools such as tutoring techniques or educational technology platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing lesson planning, documentation, and classroom supplies efficiently.
