Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our dynamic early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers, assist with daily activities, and ensure a nurturing environment where children can thrive. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing engaging educational activities aligned with curriculum standards such as Montessori or other early childhood frameworks.
- Support classroom management by helping maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in literacy, math, and other foundational skills to support individual student needs.
- Work with children with diverse abilities, including those with autism or special needs, to promote their social and academic growth.
- Help with daily childcare routines such as diapering, feeding, and supervising outdoor play to ensure children’s well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress, proofread educational materials, and prepare classroom resources.
- Mentor students through positive behavior management techniques and foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages curiosity and independence.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs, including autism spectrum disorder.
- Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to multitask across different classrooms as a floater while maintaining consistency in teaching quality.
- Skilled in behavior management techniques that promote positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
- Experience with Montessori or private school settings is a plus.
