Assistant Teacher/Floater

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our dynamic educational team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support classroom activities, assist lead teachers, and ensure a nurturing environment for young learners. As a vital member of our educational community, you will help foster early childhood development, promote literacy and math skills, and support students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism. Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans focused on early childhood education, literacy, and math development.
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment and encouraging appropriate behavior through effective behavior management techniques.
  • Work directly with children to provide individualized support, mentorship, and tutoring to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Help prepare instructional materials, proofread educational resources, and organize classroom supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt activities for students with special needs or disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder.
  • Supervise children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Provide coverage across different classrooms as needed, serving as a reliable floater who maintains consistency in student support.

Qualifications

  • Prior classroom experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or private schools.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, Montessori methods, or similar educational philosophies is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with children, parents, and team members.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly valued.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and constructively while fostering a nurturing environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in tutoring, mentoring, and supporting literacy and math education initiatives.
