Assistant Teachers

· Assisting the class teacher, Minimum 30 periods per week

· Throughout the day, the assistant teacher should be present in the classroom including the short break and lunch break with the students.

· Should accompany the students to all co scholastic classes like computer, values plus, dance, music, library, PE, drop them and can be back in staffroom.

· Prepare the board and mention the day’s timetable, attendance, house points, homework and books to brought table for the next day

· Prepare absentee slips.

· Maintaining monthly records for CCA and House points in the system.

· Assisting students in understanding the concept on one to one basis as and when required.

· Substituting class teacher and CCA teacher in their absence.

· Completing/assisting the pending work of the student in case of absence.

· Assisting class teacher in preparing teaching aids

· The above-mentioned responsibilities are to be executed with the common understanding between the class teacher and the assistant teacher for healthy mentoring and monitoring of the student

· Any other responsibility assigned by school Authority as and when required.

· To maintain cordial relationship with associated class teacher.

· Relationship with other staff should be professional and disciplined.

· Student and teacher relationship should be professional and disciplined.

· Parent Teacher Meetings are the most common method of meeting between two important people in a student’s life: teacher and parent.

· Develop a list of parents who are ready to volunteer and take the benefit of their service for various activities of the school, such as for taking children for field visits, sports/art exhibitions, annual function, school magazine, etc

· Should be an effective communicator .

· Arrange workshops on parenting, and particularly on exam related anxieties

· Constantly send information about the activities in the school, and child’s progress

· Inform the parents about the expected learning outcomes, portfolios, home assignments, etc.

· Involve parents in the community outreach work undertaken by the school.

· These meetings provide an opportunity for parents to know in detail about the progress of their child and the challenges before him/her Teachers must frankly tell the parents about the same .

· As far as possible, parents must attend the PTM

· PTMs should also be used to keep the parents informed of the latest developments in curriculum, pedagogy, examinations, etc, if any

· After attending such seminars/conferences, teacher has to present the inputs acquired during such sessions to the staff.

· The same to be reported to the Coordinator & Principal and submit the details of the workshop.
