ROLE STATEMENT:
The Assistant Technical Designer is responsible for supporting the Technical Design Team in all stages of development. Accountable for Administrative responsibilities and ensures maintenance and organization for the Tech team. Interfaces with all cross functional teams and global partners. Ensures product is consistent with Jenny Yoo Collection standards and production timelines are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and track the status of all development and production styles.
- Measure and enter initial specs in the tech pack prior to fitting.
- Assist with coordinating and preparing for all fit sessions and meetings.
- Attend fit sessions with Tech Team and take photos, videos and notes during fittings.
- Monitor Development timeline and calendar and interface with In-house and Overseas partners to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Assist with communicating fit comments and corrections to global technical partners, factories, vendors and QC.
- Update tech packs to stay on top of design sketch revisions, construction details and specs as needed.
- Assist Tech Team with Quality Control inspections, and Initial Bulk review.
- Assist Tech and Design Teams with hand-sewing work, repairs, opening garments, and minor revisions.
- Assist Tech team with fabric, component or technique tests.
- Correspond with pattern room to send patterns, cutter’s must and samples to factories.
- Attend the milestone meetings when applicable.
- Consistent/continuous prioritization of workload and tasks.
- Periodically check with Tech/Production/Design/Sample Room to order, purchase and maintain supplies.
- Purchase supplies as needed and advise Product Development Coordinator of materials that need to be ordered from factory.
- Manage weekly workload, keeping to calendar and following deadlines.
- All other duties, as assigned by the Technical Designer and Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Strong passion for Technical Design and intent to grow within this field
- Sewing, design and pattern-making knowledge/experience is preferred
- Must be able to set priorities in an environment with competing/changing demands
- Must be able to implement plans quickly with minimal guidance
- Must be able to work independently on multiple tasks which are high priority
- Strong organization and self- management skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook
- Experience with Gerber/Lectra or N-Shot digitizing software is a plus
- Excellent organization, multi-tasking, listening, strong oral and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
