Blue House Preschool at Trinity Episcopal School seeks a highly qualified individual to fulfill the role of Assistant to the Head of Preschool. Blue House Preschool is a research-driven, child-centered preschool where 2- to 5-year-olds can learn, explore, create, and question. The preschool was established by Trinity Episcopal School in January 2021 on 2.3 wooded acres, just west of Trinity’s campus. Blue House Preschool employs more than 20 faculty and enrolls approximately 100 students. The Preschool is accredited by the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools and Independent Schools Association of the Southwest. Texas Health and Human Services provide the licensing for our PK2 program.

Overview
This individual facilitates the work of the Head of Preschool, ensuring that the division runs smoothly, helping to create a safe and developmentally appropriate experience for children.
Responsibilities
● Serves as primary support for Head of Blue House Preschool including assisting in administrative and operational tasks while interacting with students, parents, and faculty.
● Organizes and maintains schedules including calendars, meetings, travel, conferences, visitors and department activities for Blue House Preschool, in general, and for Head of Preschool specifically.
● Coordinates with and participates in our aftercare program when necessary.
● Assists with coordination of special events.
● Assists with weekly classes.
● Answers phones for the department and takes messages.
● Monitors and signs-in visitors to the building.
● Helps with the distribution of information like class schedules and class lists including postings, field trips, and visitors.
● Maintains office equipment and orders supplies.
● Organizes and prioritizes information; aggregates student data, and responds to regularly occurring requests for information.
● Creates, manages and maintains Blue House Preschool files.
● Communicates changes with division, and coordinates with business office entities.
● Assists with the School’s Admission process.
● Maintains and reports faculty absences and substitutes.
● Maintains and reports student attendance, nurse visits, accidents, and other related incidents.
● Prepares presentations, correspondence, forms, and reports; assists with compilation of surveys and other data for Blue House administrators.
● Manages daily snacks from food service including troubleshooting missing items.
● Maintains all student conference reports and other academic records.
● Manages, distributes, and is responsible for all Blue House communication including document quality, timeliness of creation/distribution, and alignment with current school branding.
● Acts as liaison between parents and faculty and administration.
● Acts as point of contact for enrichment programs including scheduling and billing.
● Completes special projects as directed by the Head of Preschool.
● Assists in maintaining facility minimum standards including disseminating requirements and information to new employees.
● Troubleshoots technology and collaborate with IT and database personnel
● Assists in other tasks as assigned.
This is a full-time, 12-month position and will require some non-traditional work hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
Qualifications
● BA degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
● Works effectively with ages 2-5 years old

Experience:
2+ years prior experience in an administrative support role, school experience preferred
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
● Knowledge of relevant Texas DFPS Minimum Standards a plus
● Proficient in, but not limited to Google Calendar and Google Documents, Microsoft Office including Excel, Power Point
● Familiarity and experience with database systems including input of data and report generation

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
